Woodman Point 180 Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade, Munster Western Australia
WP180 upgrading is the WA’s largest wastewater treatment plant. The Woodman Point Wastewater Treatment Plant, to increase capacity to 180 million litres per day, which will allow it to service a population of more than 900,000 residents.
The plant currently treats wastewater for a population of about 680,000 living south of the river in the Perth metro area. But as the population in the catchment area continues to grow, additional capacity is required at the plant. These upgrades will increase capacity to accommodate for the area’s growing population.
An important part of the upgrade included improving odour control at the plant and new equipment to achieve this is now fully operational. However, over the coming weeks, planned maintenance is required on equipment that controls the release of gasses from the plant. Although this is not part of the upgraded odour control system, maintenance on this equipment may result in an increase in odour from the plant. We plan to undertake this work during September for around 3 weeks.
